    Why even pre-purchase a digital game ?

    Pre-order bonus items?

My reasoning was that I enjoyed the beta so much I was 100% going to be playing this game on launch. I had already come to that conclusion.

Embark's new anticheat. I'm not sure why it doesn't work, they claim it's bugged for them but the community manager says they can't discuss details.

The same community manager did say that making proton work is still the plan. We'll see.

This is because, while EasyAntiCheat was installed previously, it wasn't enforcing. So Linux clients could run because EAC wasn't kicking anybody.

In Early Access, EAC will be enforcing because it is one of the systems they want to test at scale.

As it stands now WARDOGS plans on adding EAC Linux support but it isn't ready for the playtest. So once EAC is enabled, without a valid Linux client, it will kick Linux users.

This is just more of a 'This is currently Beta/Early Access' thing than a 'WARDOGS hates Linux' thing.

This is fucking annoying. I’m tired of being treated like a second class citizen for choosing to not install spywareOS on my computer.

Fuck these companies. I’m refunding my wardogs purchase.

The previous beta was fine. First For Honor and now Wardogs. Fucking shameful.

Because they actively encouraged users to prepurchase the game, play the beta, and refund if they didn't like it. Many prepurchased based on previous comments about supporting proton and are now considering refunding based on recent comments.

Ah yes, the classic "it's not on Linux because all Linux users are dangerous criminals and I don't have kernel access." They're wrapping it in nicer packaging, but what else could "it's an anti-cheat issue," and "we're focusing on security ahead of that part of the player base" mean?

Are you sure? Because on their discord people (i mean users, didn't see any official statement) were saying that EAC had been completely replaced with Embark's new anti-cheat

$20 discount if you pre-order during beta, $10 discount if you buy during EA

Btw. from what I've found, people are claiming that Stream's refund rule is less than 2hr play time AND less than 14 days since purchase. And allegedly the play test (beta) doesn't count towards those, so those timers would start when the game enters early access on September 10. I mean I hope that's true, so personally I'm going to avoid going into the shooting range (people were saying they could circumvent the AC and do that yesterday) and then I'll request a refund the 20th if they haven't sorted it out by then.

It was working on Linux during the last play test. The rumer is they added a new anti-cheat and it by default doesn't support Linux.

@femtek @tabular that is exactly what they did. They just used the good will of the Linux support and dropped the disguise a week before launch. Just like BF6 did.
