I hope Liam plasters this on front page of GoL. Shame these motherfuckers.

Pretty annoying if true. I preordered with the idea that I could refund if the beta didn't work. It worked great so I was happy to wait for release but now it looks like I'll have to refund after all.

No, they are making zero effort.

A blog is incredibly simple to setup. There's no excuse for this other than laziness.

I appreciate the heads-up, though. I was planning on getting it for the beta, but I guess I will just keep waiting. My Steam library isn't hurting for other things to play, even within the genre.

What? They are trying to sell me a product.

Starting a blog, something that a grandma can do, is the absolute bare minimum. Even Steam can host a blog and forum for them, which is accessible without login.

The title here is misleading. A game not being supported can be completely ok. The vast majority of games ran through Proton on Linux aren't and they typically work perfectly fine regardless.

As the announcement itself says, they have actively chosen to not enable the setting that would allow Linux, but is working to support it in the future, presumably to get it SteamDeck-verified for the real launch.

In the beta last week the game was perfectly playable via proton which is why people are frustrated.

It was working on Linux during the last play test. The rumer is they added a new anti-cheat and it by default doesn't support Linux.

As of two weeks ago it was listed when I bought.

Also Easy Anti cheat does not preclude Linux from being supported.

I mean, yeah, Proton does have EasyAntiCheat Runtime but I wondered because it says kernel level anti-cheat. Though I know a couple games that run fine on Linux even though their Steam page states kernel level anti-cheat, so maybe that's not a problem at all. But I guess we have rights to have suspicions.

                                Oh yea no doubt.

The whole anti cheat thing is so damn silly anyways.

Kernel level anti cheat only really became necessary after we destroyed user hostable servers and mods that could just kick and ban cheaters.

Could have easily expanded that system and lets humans be the anti cheat. Would have educated a bunch of people and brought us all closer by watching each other's digital backs..

But nah you need to let EA access your systems most vulnerable parts after reading that Bobby Kotick and Jeffrey Epstein were indoctrinating kids into the economy via CoD points.

                                Love this world

Edit: I know Bobby Kotick and EA are not literally related, point is I don't trust any of these people.

Tarkov was working on Linux and then they added anticheat. Comments were made, iir it would be enabled in the future, but it's still blocked today.

The game doesn't release Sept 10th, it enters early access.

During early access the devs encourage people to refund if they don't like it.

You just have to wait the same amount of time as you thought you would yesterday.

Calm the fuck down, and if you didn't know any of that, you didn't pre-order "with an idea" you did it with an assumption after not putting in any effort or you'd have known that.

I assume this may be due to the nature of the closed beta being a focused load test on specific systems not a general playtest that the last one was. Removing Linux/Proton support may be a simple method of removing issues they aren't focused on tracking this weekend.

This is fucking annoying. I’m tired of being treated like a second class citizen for choosing to not install spywareOS on my computer.

Fuck these companies. I’m refunding my wardogs purchase.

The previous beta was fine. First For Honor and now Wardogs. Fucking shameful.

                                          Why even pre-purchase a digital game ?
